At what point does multi-tasking start going in the wrong direction?

This post caused me to think about the whole idea of multi-tasking. It is true that whenever I am attempting to do several things at one time, it often takes me longer then if I just focused on them one at a time.

But that is so hard to do when you have the tools in front of your to do several things... ugh.
