I love books that dive into how our minds work or how we seem 'hard wired' at times towards certain behaviors and actions. This book attempts to look at the many areas of our minds where we are seemingly bent towards making irrational choices and decisions, but we make them in the same pattern over and over.
Some key areas for me where:
- We have this strange need to always compare things. Even things that don't compare well.
- The old adage of 'you don't own things, they own you' is actually true.
- We all have this strange need to keep options open. However in our bouncing from option to option we often miss the opportunity cost. That is we would often be ahead if we just went ahead and made a decision, even if it was a bad one then just trying to bounce from option to option.
