Book review: The Cellist of Sarajevo

This is a book that needs to make you 'must read' list of the year. It is a look at how war or intense situations effect us, and change our humanity. Set in the city of Sarajevo the foundation of this story is that a bomb explodes and kills a group of people while a cellist watches out of his window. He vows to set up his cello and play each day for each of the people dead. While the story then looks at the lives of others in the city and what this war means and effects them. Filled with moving moments and a couple of tears (I will admit to shedding a few at the end of this story) it really makes you take a look at your life and think.

It is a short story, but it packs a huge impact.
