This is a great post by John Maxwell. What separates the great from the not so great? How do you become a leader? It takes by starting. And starting by leading yourself.

There is a great line in the artice:
"If you want to start leading, you must always start with yourself, because if you wouldn't follow yourself, why should anybody else?"
