False Transparency

This is a great post about false transparency. There is notion that we need to have open and transparent relationships in our personal life and business.

We all have things that we need to work on. But are we actually willing to listen to anyone about them or even do anything about it?

There is this notion that if I throw it all out on the table then people will know where I am at and there is this sense that everything is going well and alright, but if it is a confession and I don't allow anyone to give me direction or input into my life on how to fix it - really nothing has changed.

All that happens is the confessor gets a rush of relief in feeling that they have removed this burden and come clean. However, if no change is made in your life it is amazing to see how you continue to get the same results over and over.

This is very strange - I am willing to kick open the door admit and be transparent about my faults and my wrongs, but I am not going to do anything about it.

This can apply to everyone. It is amazing how often I think that I need to eat healthy but that cookie looks so much more appealing then the carrot stick.
