I know this movie has been out forever. In fact it probably isn't even worth my writing about this because I am pretty sure that I the last person in America who was ever going to see this movie that hasn't. We have had this movie laying around the house for about 6 months - and we finially had a night that wasn't tied up with some commitment and so we settled in for Lake House.
For being a 'chick flick' it actaully was somewhat engaging. The concept of being able to communicate back and forth through time is a pretty cool idea. And the tying to two strangers together and then making them fall in love..... of course there couldn't be a movie without that..... was pretty interesting. The idea of the 'alternative ending' was kind of cool. But this is the sort of movie that you have to just sit back and watch but don't think too much about - otherwise the story really falls apart.
So sit back and enjoy. It is a good story without being too sappy. And besides the house rules.
