Last week Coldplay released a new song off their upcoming album for free to fans. If you didn't get it - shame on you - it rules!
Today I read about how Nine Inch Nails is allowing fans to get the new album - The Slip - for free. And with options. You can download all of the songs in MP3, FLAC or M4A lossless at CD quality and even higher-than-CD quality 24/96 WAVE.
I think this could be a great bone for NIN, because there will potentially be more people who will give their songs a listen. However it also means that when the album does come out, they will really need to create or present it in a really compelling manner. Which they probably will.
