Rethinking marketing

When I was in school the four Ps of any marketing were:
Product
Pricing
Promotion
Placement.
In reading through this interview - a change or shift has occured. What was is now not. The new 'Ps' in today's world/market are:
Personalization
Presence
Persuasion
Permission

A radical shift to focus on the consumer rather then letting the marketer drive everything.
