Book Review: The Tales of Beedle the Bard
This book is the latest from JK Rowling and is not really a continuation of the Harry Potter series, but more of a appendix. While a short book (108 pages) it is not a 'throw away'. The stories are tight and in standard JK fashion, engaging. What this book did for me was to really shed more light on the overall themes of the Potter series. The fact that magic is really equated to power and that too much power will corrupt. Also the fact that throughout the series the topic of racism (true bloods vs. mud bloods) is tackled a lot.
Filled with some pretty fun stories: Babbitty Rabbitty and her crackling stump. It is well worth picking up and reading. Especially the 'commentary' by Dumbledore.
