This is an interesting book that I was able to read and review – thanks Thomas Nelson! It is a breakdown of 12 principles that will allow you to refocus your life and gain control over your thoughts and in effect, change your life.
I was a little nervous starting this book thinking it might be a lot of big words mumble-jumble that while it might sound good wouldn’t really improve my life once I closed the covers. In reality this is a well thought out guidebook that not only gives you the ‘Why’ and details around each principle but also give examples.
The principles that are listed out are sometimes pretty obvious, but are things that are actually quite hard to implement. Such as, Direct your thoughts, Manage your emotions, Unleash Creativity. The thing is – these all sound good but are really hard to do.
Which leads me to my favorite part of this book – the end of each chapter. There are Suggested topics for reflection and discussion, as well as Exercises and Reminders for Daily Practice. I found these reminders to be the most helpful as you work to make this principle more then just ‘head knowledge’ but actually part of your thought process and life.
This is a very practical book that really can help you change your thought process and in return, your life.
