Movie Review: The Wrestler

This movie won some awards and really had some good buzz about it. It is a somewhat classic story about the washed-up guy giving it one more fling. But the movie is really more then that - it is a gritty and somewhat 'real' look at a person who literally sacrifices his body for the few cheers.

In the same way there is a parallel story about a stripper who the wrestler befriends who also 'sacrifices' her body in a different sense.

While the overall story premise isn't new, this story was gripping and very moving.

I would emphasize that this movie is heavy on the 'gritty' and earns and then some it's 'R' rating. That being said, this is a really powerful film that is really great!
