The trip's first big moment came when we stopped in Madison, Wi at Monty's Blue Plate Diner. This place doesn't feel like it has changed munch since the 50's. Same huge long counter with stools and pie and cake cooler.
Not knowing what to order I asked the watress what the best thing to eat was and she said the meatloaf sandwich was the thing to get. So I did.... I would love to show you a picture of this amazing food, but by the time I thought about it....
Then of course we had to have desert - and the choice was Lemon pie. I had heard rummors - and they don't even come close to telling you how good this thing is.
Ethan wasn't too sure about the pie - said it reminded him of 'snot'. So he had a huge cookie.
Then we continued on our way to Chicago.
